Violinist with virtuosic technique, a continuator of Zbigniew Seifert's line in contemporary jazz.

Adam Bałdych is one of the most important violinists in contemporary European jazz. Already as a teenager he earned the title of a child prodigy, and his virtuosity combines technical ease with lyricism. Many projects deliberately reference the legacy of Zbigniew Seifert.

Since 2012 he has recorded for the German label ACT. The album Imaginary Room opened the way for him to the largest European stages, and subsequent records were made in collaboration with leading musicians: The New Tradition with the pianist Yaron Herman, Bridges and Brothers with the Norwegian Helge Lien Trio, and Poetry with the trumpeter Paolo Fresu. In 2023 he recorded Passacaglia in a duo with Leszek Możdżer.

He has performed at festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival and the London Jazz Festival. In 2013 he received the German ECHO Jazz award for international artist of the year in the string instruments category.
